UKAI no Sato is a community of six Cormorant Fishing Master's houses located along the Nagara River. The cormorant nests, piled firewood and UKAI tools in the front yards of the houses makes for a picturesque scene! You will find many interesting things related to UKAI during your stroll through this neighborhood.

You can look around an old-fashioned wooden houseboat (for UKAI fishing) being constructed by craftsmen using traditional techniques.

U no Iori, U (Cormorant pens/Cormorants)

A coffee shop owned by an active Cormorant Fishing Master. You will have a chance to observe cormorants up close in the courtyard.
