- Gifu Festival and Dosan Festival

- Every April, the Gifu Festival is held at Inaba Shrine, and the Dosan Festival celebrating SAITO Dosan's achievements is held downtown.

- Tejikara Fire Festival

- This dynamic attraction with a 300 year history takes place at Tejikarao Shrine and features men shouldering portable shrines pouring forth shower of sparks and fire.

- Fireworks on Nagara River

- 30,000 fireworks lit off against the dramatic backdrop of Mt. Kinka. These are among the largest scale fireworks displays in Japan.

- Tejikara Fire Festival, Summer

- This is the summer version of the Tejikara Fire Festival held along the Nagara River banks. The "crack fireworks" can't be seen in the spring version.

- Nagara River Takigi Noh

- Traditional Japanese Noh theater performed on a special stage on the banks of the Nagara River. This combines with the UKAI bonfires and the dramatic backdrop of Gifu Castle to create an ethereal atmosphere.

- Gifu Nobunaga Festival

- One of the biggest festivals held in Gifu City, this attracts many visitors. A memorial ceremony for Nobunaga is held at Sofuku-ji Temple.

- Ikenoue Purification Ceremony Festival

- Men of yakudoshi bathe in the Nagara River to purify themselves and pray for success. It is held in December at Katsuragake Shrine.
